In 30 Rock season 5 episode 16, titled "TGS Hates Women," Liz Lemon is faced with the task of making her show, TGS, more appealing to women after it is discovered that the majority of the show's audience is male. To do this, Liz and her team decide to bring in a new female writer, Abby Flynn (played by Abby Elliott), to add a female perspective to the show.

Despite Abby's best efforts to bring more inclusive and empowering content to TGS, the male writers and actors continue to create sexist and offensive skits. Meanwhile, Jenna Maroney struggles to come to terms with the fact that she is no longer considered young and relevant in Hollywood. Her desperation leads her to attempt to adopt a baby from Africa, which only further highlights her ignorance and cultural insensitivity.

As Liz tries to navigate the misogynistic world of comedy writing and production, she also begins to explore her own relationship with her boyfriend, Criss Chross (played by James Marsden). With their different views on marriage and children, Liz and Criss must decide if they are truly compatible for the long haul.

As always with 30 Rock, "TGS Hates Women" offers sharp wit, hilarious one-liners, and insightful commentary on the entertainment industry and society as a whole. Guest appearances from Tina Fey's former Saturday Night Live castmates, including Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch, only add to the comedy gold. However, the episode also delves into deeper societal issues, such as sexism, ageism, and cultural appropriation, making it one of 30 Rock's more thought-provoking and socially relevant installments.
