Jack Griffin is back for another season of outlandish antics in A.P. Bio. The show follows disgraced philosophy scholar Jack as he begins his tenure as a high school biology teacher in Toledo, Ohio, using his students to further his own agenda of revenge against his former rival at Harvard. In season 3, episode 1 titled "Tiny Problems," Jack returns to Whitlock High School after spending the summer abroad.

The episode opens with Jack on a boat in Paris, wearing a beret and sipping on a glass of red wine. He's speaking to a group of European intellectuals, sharing his unique philosophy on life. However, it quickly becomes clear that something is amiss. As the camera zooms out, we see that Jack is actually on a replica of the Seine river, surrounded by fellow tourists wearing "I ♥ Paris" t-shirts. He's clearly been living his summer vacation fantasies vicariously through others.

Cut to: Jack back in Toledo, a little worse for wear. It's clear that the summer abroad did little to soothe his bitterness towards his rival Miles, who now runs the philosophy department at Harvard. Jack decides that the best way to get back at Miles is to publish a paper in the same prestigious scholarly journal that Miles himself has published in. But first, he needs to find a topic.

As he sits in his classroom, staring out the window, Jack is struck with inspiration: what if he could genetically engineer a tiny horse? He could become the first person in history to do so, and his academic career would be cemented forever. With the help of his students, Jack begins his experiment. He recruits the "smart kids" in his class to help him with the science, while the "dumb kids" are tasked with carrying out other, less important duties.

But as with all of Jack's schemes, things quickly spiral out of control. The tiny horses start to multiply, and soon the classroom is overrun with miniature equines. Some of the students become attached to the little creatures, while others are disgusted by their proliferation. Jack becomes desperate to keep his experiment under wraps, but it seems that everyone in the school is aware of what's going on.

Meanwhile, Jack's personal life is in shambles. His relationship with his mother, Lynette, is strained, and he's still at odds with Principal Durbin. He tries to seek solace in his former flame, the school's guidance counselor, but she's not interested in rekindling their romance.

As the episode draws to a close, Jack is faced with a difficult decision. Does he continue with his experiment, even though it's spun wildly out of control? Or does he admit defeat and move on to another topic? One thing is clear: Jack's quest for revenge against Miles is far from over.

Overall, "Tiny Problems" is a strong season opener for A.P. Bio. The episode highlights what makes the show so enjoyable - its absurd sense of humor and unwillingness to take itself too seriously. Jack Griffin is a flawed protagonist, but he's also undeniably entertaining to watch. The addition of the tiny horses is a nice touch; it's the kind of bizarre plotline that could only work in a show like A.P. Bio. Fans of the series will be pleased to see that the show hasn't lost its edge in its third season.
