In the first episode of Almost Naked Animals season 1, we are introduced to a group of animals who own and run the Banana Cabana, a hotel and resort located on a tropical island. The main character is a dog named Howie, who serves as the manager of the hotel. Howie is known for being lazy and unreliable, often leaving his responsibilities to his assistant, a diligent and organized beaver named Octo.
The episode begins with Howie waking up to the realization that he forgot to plan a party for a guest who is celebrating their birthday that day. Desperate to save face, he enlists the help of his fellow employees to throw a last-minute bash. However, their attempts at planning a party are met with one obstacle after another, as they struggle to find appropriate decorations and food.
Meanwhile, a new guest checks into the Banana Cabana - a crab named Crabby. Crabby is not impressed with the quality of the hotel and complains about everything from the room to the food. This prompts the animals to work extra hard to please her, but their efforts only seem to make things worse.
As the day progresses, Howie and his team's party planning attempts continue to fail, and they fear they may never be able to pull off the birthday celebration. However, in the end, they manage to come up with a unique and creative solution that impresses both the birthday guest and Crabby.
In the second half of the episode, the focus shifts to a different storyline. A famous hotel critic named Cornelius Twining arrives at the Banana Cabana to review the hotel. Howie and the others are excited for the opportunity to receive a positive review, but they soon discover that Twining is not easily impressed.
To make matters worse, Twining's expectations are not met when he is given a room in the "One Star" section of the hotel, which is a rundown and dilapidated area of the resort. Despite Octo's attempts to provide him with everything he needs, Twining finds fault in every aspect of his stay.
As the review deadline approaches, the animals frantically try to improve Twining's experience and win his approval. They even go so far as to create a luxurious fake hotel room for him to stay in, but their efforts ultimately backfire.
In the end, the animals learn that they cannot please everyone, but they can still work together to provide a quality experience for their guests. The episode ends with a cliffhanger as viewers are left wondering what the review will say and how it will impact the future of the Banana Cabana.
Overall, Almost Naked Animals season 1 episode 1 is a fun and light-hearted introduction to the series. The animal characters are quirky and endearing, and the humor is silly and irreverent. The episode sets up several ongoing storylines that will no doubt be explored further in future episodes.
