Week 1B of American Idol season 6 opens with the second part of the Minneapolis auditions. As always, the judges are looking for the best talent in the city. With a panel consisting of Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul, the contestants have their work cut out for them.

The first audition of the episode comes from a young man named Brian, who sings a stunning rendition of "Feelin' Good" by Nina Simone. His voice is soulful and powerful, and the judges are clearly impressed. Randy compliments his smooth tone, while Paula notes that he has a natural talent and Simon simply says "I'm going to give you a yes."

Next up is Ashley, a bubbly blonde who has dreams of making it big in the music industry. However, her rendition of "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston falls flat. Simon is quick to point out that she's "the wrong kind of bubbly" for the show, and Ashley leaves the audition in tears.

Things take a turn for the better with the next contestant, a young woman named Emily who has a hauntingly beautiful voice. She sings a stripped-down version of "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley and the judges are blown away. Simon praises her originality and calls it "refreshing to have someone like you on the show."

As the auditions continue, there are a few more memorable moments. A man named Greg performs a unique version of "I Will Survive" that has the judges laughing and clapping along. Meanwhile, a young woman named Sarah sings a heartfelt rendition of "Cry Me a River" that leaves Paula in tears.

The episode ends with a cliffhanger as a mysterious singer named Dan takes the stage. His appearance is unassuming, and the judges aren't sure what to expect. However, as soon as he starts singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," it's clear that he has a voice that could make him a serious contender in the competition.

Overall, Week 1B of American Idol season 6 delivers some standout performances and memorable moments. It's clear that the judges are looking for something special, and the contestants are eager to deliver.
