In season 20 episode 2 of American Pickers, titled "Jolene, Jolene," hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz head to Kentucky in search of unique and interesting items to add to their collection. Their first stop is at a park where a local man has a vast collection of vintage signs and gas pumps. Mike and Frank are excited to scour the collection and discover a few rare finds including a rare Gulf Oil sign and a quirky Coca-Cola dispenser.
Next, the pickers head to the home of Jolene, who has an impressive collection of vintage vending machines. Jolene has been collecting for over 30 years and has a wide variety of vintage machines including a rare hot peanut machine. Mike and Frank are thrilled to learn about the history of the machines and get a chance to try out a few of them themselves.
After their visit with Jolene, the pickers head to the home of a collector who has a large offering of vintage toys. They come across an original Mr. Potato Head set and a life-size clown statue. Mike and Frank are delighted with their finds and continue on their journey in search of one-of-a-kind items.
Their final stop of the day is a unique location where an artist has created a massive metal sculpture garden. Mike and Frank are amazed by the sheer size and creativity of the sculptures, and they try to find items that fit their criteria for their collection.
Throughout the episode, Mike and Frank show their enthusiasm for the unique finds they come across and the stories behind them. They also highlight the importance of preserving history and learn about the impact these objects had on society in their time.
