Andromeda Season 2 Episode 15 Dance of the Mayflies

Dylan and the crew of the Andromeda respond to a distress signal from a planet that appears to be uninhabitable. As they land, they discover a group of people who have been living in an underground bunker for generations. The people tell them that they have been hiding from a group of aliens known as the Mayflies, who come to the surface every year during their mating season.

The Mayflies are attracted to light and sound, so the people have been living in complete darkness and silence for weeks at a time in order to avoid detection. Dylan and his crew offer to help them fight off the Mayflies and escape the planet, but the people are hesitant to leave their only home.

Meanwhile, Beka and Tyr are sent to meet with a group of traders who might be able to provide them with some much-needed supplies. They arrive to find that the traders are hosting a dance party, and are encouraged to join in. Beka is hesitant at first, but Tyr convinces her to let loose and have some fun.

As the party goes on, Beka begins to suspect that there is something sinister going on. She overhears the traders talking about a secret deal they are making with a group of aliens, and realizes that they are planning to betray the crew of the Andromeda.

Back on the planet, Dylan and his crew are preparing for the arrival of the Mayflies. They rig up a series of traps and weapons, hoping to be able to fend them off long enough to make their escape.

When the Mayflies arrive, they are more powerful and numerous than anyone expected. The crew of the Andromeda fights valiantly, but they are quickly overwhelmed. Just when all hope seems lost, Beka and Tyr show up with a surprise that could turn the tide of the battle.

In the end, the crew of the Andromeda is able to defeat the Mayflies and rescue the people from the planet. Beka and Tyr expose the traders' treachery, and the Andromeda is able to restock their supplies and continue on their mission. As they prepare to leave, Dylan reflects on the dangers of the universe and the importance of always being ready to face them head-on.
