Bakemonogatari is a Japanese anime television series of supernatural fiction. It is based on a series of light novels written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Vofan. The show follows Koyomi Araragi, a high school student who has had encounters with several supernatural beings.

In season 1 episode 5, titled "Mayoi Snail (Part 3)," the story picks up where the previous episode left off. Koyomi is still traveling with Mayoi Hachikuji, a young girl who died in a traffic accident and became a wandering ghost. They are trying to find her way back home but keep getting lost in the process due to Mayoi's lack of directional skills.

Koyomi soon realizes that Mayoi is not simply lost but is actually stuck in a kind of limbo between the world of the living and the dead. He discovers that her attachment to the world is due to her desire to see her mother again, who she had a fight with before her accident.

As they continue their journey, they encounter a strange man in a Hawaiian shirt who seems to be following them. He introduces himself as Kaiki Deishu, a con artist specializing in supernatural scams. He claims to have a solution to Mayoi's problem but demands a high price for it. Koyomi is suspicious of the man's intentions and refuses to make a deal with him.

Meanwhile, Koyomi's girlfriend, Hitagi Senjougahara, is worried about his safety and hires a private detective to keep an eye on him. The detective, Yozuru Kagenui, is introduced in this episode and seems to have a history with Koyomi's acquaintances in the supernatural world.

As the episode comes to a close, Koyomi and Mayoi find themselves lost once again. Mayoi is starting to disappear due to her attachment to the world fading away. Koyomi is desperate to find a way to save her and contemplates making a deal with Kaiki despite his reservations.

"Mayoi Snail (Part 3)" is another captivating episode in the Bakemonogatari series. It delves deeper into the world of the supernatural and showcases the complex relationships between Koyomi and the various characters he encounters. The episode is full of suspense and intrigue as the story unfolds, keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats. The animation and soundtrack continue to impress with their stunning visuals and haunting melodies. Overall, it's a must-watch for fans of the series.
