BEERLAND is a show centered around exploring the unique and diverse craft brewery scene across America. Hosted by Meg Gill, co-founder of Golden Road Brewing, the show takes us on a journey through some of the most intriguing and exciting breweries across the country.

In the season two premiere, we follow Meg to the hipster mecca of Portland, Oregon. Known for its thriving beer culture, Portland is a natural choice for BEERLAND to kick off its second season.

Meg starts her journey at the Breakside Brewery, where she tries out some of their most famous beers and meets with brewer Ben Edmunds, learning about the philosophy behind the unique recipes and the history of the brewery. Breakside is home to creative beers like the Salted Caramel Stout, the Wanderlust IPA, and the Passionfruit Sour Ale. Meg is especially intrigued by the unconventional ingredients used in the beer-making process, such as rosehips and hibiscus flowers.

Next up on Meg’s list is the Ecliptic Brewery, where she is greeted by the owner and master brewer, John Harris. With over three decades of brewing experience, John is a true industry veteran. Meg gets a chance to sample some of their most popular brews, including the Capella Porter, the Carina Peach Sour, and the Orbiter IPA. John even takes her on a tour through the brewery, where they discuss the science behind brewing.

Meg’s third stop is the Hair of the Dog brewery, which boasts some of the most unique and decadent beers in the Pacific Northwest. Owner and brewer Alan Sprints shows Meg around his brewery, where he explains the aging process behind some of their most famous beers, like the Cherry Adam from the Wood and the Fred from the Wood. Meg is impressed by Alan’s passion and dedication to beer-making, noting that he is one of the pioneers of the European-style craft brewery movement in the United States.

For the final stop on her Portland tour, Meg heads to the Great Notion Brewing Company, which is known for its experimental and flavorful beers and its cozy and inviting atmosphere. Meg meets with head brewer Andy Miller, who explains the inspiration behind some of their most creative brews, like the Double Stack, a mouth-watering pancake stout. Meg even gets to sample some of the brewery’s limited releases, which are only available on tap at the brewery.

Throughout the Portland episode of BEERLAND, Meg highlights the passion and creativity of each brewery’s founders and brewers. She captures the unique charm and character of each brewery, showcasing the hard work and dedication that goes into crafting each and every glass of beer.

Overall, BEERLAND season two episode one is a must-watch for any beer lover or curious enthusiast who wants to explore the world of craft brewing.
