Billy the Kid is a Western drama series set in the late 19th century that tells the story of infamous outlaw William H. Bonney, known as Billy the Kid. In season 1 episode 1, titled Premiere, we are introduced to the series' main character, Billy the Kid, and his younger friend and accomplice, Tom O'Folliard.
The episode opens with Billy and Tom on the run from the law after robbing a local store. They make their way to an abandoned cabin in the woods to lie low for a while. Meanwhile, Sheriff Pat Garrett and his posse are hot on their trail.
As Billy and Tom settle into the cabin, we see flashbacks that give us insight into their backgrounds and how they became outlaws. However, they soon realize that they are outnumbered and outgunned. In a bid to save Tom's life, Billy sacrifices himself and surrenders to the law.
The episode ends with Billy being taken to jail, and Tom vowing to do everything in his power to get him out. We see a glimpse of Garrett's unease as he contemplates what lies ahead for Billy the Kid.
Overall, Premiere sets the stage for what promises to be an action-packed and emotionally charged series. We get a glimpse into the complex history of one of the Wild West's most notorious outlaws and the people who were drawn into his orbit.
