Andre 'Dre' Johnson, the patriarch of the Johnson family and his wife Rainbow, better known as 'Bow,' lead a busy life raising their children in an affluent, predominantly white neighborhood. As they navigate their professional and personal lives, they tend to their kids Zoey, Junior, twins Jack and Diane, and their youngest, Devante.

In season 5, episode 11, titled 'Waltz In A Minor,' the Johnson family finds themselves dealing with some unexpected challenges. When Dre's upbringing comes back to haunt him, he has trouble coming to grips with his past and how it has affected his present. Meanwhile, Bow tries to prove to her colleagues that she can be a working mother and still be there for her family.

As Dre grapples with a sense of unease, his mother Ruby, played by the talented Jenifer Lewis, makes an unannounced visit and sets her sights on redecorating his house. But with Dre's apprehension over her decorating choices and her attempts to interfere in his personal life, tensions between them begin to rise.

While his mother is causing turmoil at home, Dre also faces a crisis at work when his boss, Leslie, who is also a close friend, proposes a new business venture that seems to undermine Dre's authority. Dre's struggle with his boss isn't the only challenge he faces at work. After a conversation with a group of colleagues, Dre realizes that he has been neglecting his Blackness, prompting him to question whether he has done enough to pass on his heritage and teach his children about their culture.

In the midst of all of these challenges, Bow takes on a big case at work, leading her colleagues to question whether she can balance her new role while still fulfilling her duties as a mother. Bow insists that she can handle it all, but as she faces one setback after another, she begins to feel the weight of the pressure mounting.

With all of these stressors, Dre and Bow turn to each other for support, but their individual struggles threaten to take a toll on their relationship. As they try to navigate their way forward, they begin to realize that the only way to move ahead is by confronting their past head-on.

'Waltz In A Minor' is as funny and poignant as its predecessors, with the Johnson family exploring new challenges and relationship dynamics that they have never before faced. The witty writing, combined with the stellar performances of the entire cast, makes for an engaging episode that will keep viewers coming back for more. Whether you're a long-time fan of the series or tuning in for the first time, 'Waltz In A Minor' is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
