In the Name of the Father is the second episode of the eleventh season of the police procedural television drama series Blue Bloods. The episode picks up with the Reagan family, who are still grappling with the aftermath of Joe Hill's apparent murder. Frank (played by Tom Selleck) is busy trying to balance his professional duties as the New York City Police Commissioner with his personal grief over the loss of his nephew.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Reagan family are also dealing with their own troubles. Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (played by Marisa Ramirez) are investigating the shooting of an NYPD detective, while Jamie (played by Will Estes) and Eddie (played by Vanessa Ray) are dealing with a troublesome rookie cop who seems to have a chip on his shoulder.

Things get more complicated for the Reagan family when they receive news that Joe Hill's body has been found. His remains are quickly identified by Frank, who is devastated by the news. As the family struggles to come to terms with Joe's death, they also have to deal with the fallout from his murder investigation. Frank is determined to find out who was responsible for killing Joe, but his pursuit of the truth could put him and his family in danger.

The episode revolves around the theme of family, and how the Reagan's stick together even in the face of such tragedy. Each member of the family has their own way of dealing with the loss of Joe, but ultimately they all come together to support each other.

The show also explores the topic of police corruption, as the investigation into Joe's murder uncovers some uncomfortable truths about how some officers abuse their power. Frank is forced to confront the fact that he may have turned a blind eye to this corruption in the past, and has a difficult decision to make about how to proceed.

Throughout the episode, the tension builds as the Reagan family try to unravel the mystery of Joe's death. The audience is left wondering who was responsible for killing Joe, and what the repercussions of the investigation will be for the family and the NYPD as a whole.

Overall, In the Name of the Father is a tense and emotionally charged episode that sets the stage for the rest of the season. It deals with timely and important issues like police corruption and family loyalty, and keeps the audience guessing until the very end. Fans of Blue Bloods will not want to miss this gripping episode.
