Ep 5. The Forgotten

In Blue Bloods season 8 episode 5, entitled "The Forgotten," the Reagan family is still grappling with the death of Linda (Amy Carlson), Danny's (Donnie Wahlberg) wife and Jackie's (Jennifer Esposito) former partner. The episode revolves around Danny and Jackie's investigation of a cold case involving a woman named Rachel, who was murdered 18 years ago.

The case reemerges when the remains of an unidentified young woman are found in a park. Danny and Jackie bring in Rachel's brother, who was recently released from prison, for questioning. They try to piece together what really happened all those years ago, but the brother doesn't seem to be giving them the whole truth.

The situation becomes more complicated when Danny and Jackie discover that the victim had connections to a notorious drug lord who is still active in the area. Tensions rise as the detectives are forced to choose between protecting Rachel's brother and taking down the drug lord.

Meanwhile, Frank (Tom Selleck) is dealing with his own issues at work. He has to navigate the politics surrounding an upcoming election and defend his department's reputation after a journalist makes unfounded accusations against them.

Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is also dealing with a personal issue. Her ex-husband has returned to the picture, and she has trouble trusting him after years of being hurt. She turns to Jamie (Will Estes) for support, who is beginning to deal with his own relationship problems.

As the Reagans try to solve the case and move forward with their personal lives, they learn that the truth can be painful but necessary. "The Forgotten" highlights the importance of family, loyalty, and justice in the face of adversity.
