Frank's long-time friend and former partner, Lenny Ross, is killed in a shootout with armed robbers. Danny and Baez investigate the case and uncover a connection between the robbers and a high-profile law firm. Meanwhile, Frank is conflicted over the prospect of his son, Joe, becoming a cop, and he seeks advice from an old friend who made a similar decision with his own son. Jamie and Eddie plan a romantic weekend getaway, but their plans are derailed when a young woman they tried to help earlier ends up in trouble again. And Erin deals with the fallout from a controversial case involving a police officer accused of using excessive force. As tensions rise between the police department and the public, everyone must navigate divided loyalties and the difficult choices that come with being a member of the NYPD.
