In Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 8, titled USPIS, the detectives of the Nine-Nine are tasked with assisting the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) on a case involving a mailman accused of hoarding undelivered mail in his apartment. Sgt. Terry Jeffords is especially excited about working with the USPIS, as he has a personal interest in stamp collecting and has always admired their work. However, things quickly get complicated when they discover that the mailman’s motive for hoarding the mail is not what they initially thought.

As the detectives work closely with the USPIS agents, tensions begin to rise between them, particularly between Jake Peralta and one of the USPIS agents, Jack Danger (played by Ed Helms). Danger is a stern and by-the-book agent who is not amused by Peralta’s antics and dismisses his detective work as “clown town.” Peralta, of course, takes this as a challenge and sets out to prove Danger wrong.

Meanwhile, Capt. Holt assigns Sgt. Terry Jeffords to a new task - training Gina Linetti to be his temporary replacement while he is away. Jeffords is initially hesitant, as Gina is notoriously difficult to work with, but he agrees to take on the task. What follows is a series of hilarious training sessions in which Jeffords tries to teach Gina the ropes of being a sergeant, while also trying to keep his cool despite her many quirks.

Back on the main case, the detectives soon realize that the mailman they are investigating is not a criminal, but rather a man who has been trying to save the mail from being thrown away by his superiors. They discover that the postal service has been understaffed and overworked, resulting in a huge backlog of undelivered mail that was being discarded instead of delivered. The mailman began hoarding the mail in order to protect it from being thrown away, and was intending to deliver it himself when he had the time.

As the detectives work to uncover the truth about the mailman’s intentions, they also have to deal with the unexpected arrival of Danger’s ex-wife, who is involved in the case as well. Peralta takes this as an opportunity to get under Danger’s skin, but it ultimately leads to a much-needed heart-to-heart between the two detectives.

In the end, the case is solved and the mailman is cleared of any wrongdoing. However, the detectives also learn a valuable lesson about the importance of teamwork and collaboration when working with other agencies. Peralta and Danger even manage to find some common ground, and Danger begrudgingly admits that Peralta may have some detective skills after all.

Overall, Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 8 is a hilarious and heartwarming episode that showcases the strengths of the show’s ensemble cast. It’s a great example of how the show manages to balance comedy with serious topics and character development, and it’s sure to leave fans eagerly anticipating the next episode.
