The show is set in the year 2014 when Aoba Watase, a young high school student, finds himself transported to a parallel world. There, he finds himself embroiled in a war between two factions - the Free Pact Alliance and the Great Zogilia Republic. Both sides are fighting for control of the powerful mechas called "Cybody" that are capable of controlling the fabric of space-time.

Aoba is quickly drafted into the Free Pact Alliance, where he learns how to use a powerful new mecha called the "Luxon" and becomes engaged in the fight against the Great Zogilia Republic. Along the way, he befriends a tough and capable female pilot named Hina Yumihara, as well as Dio Junyou Weinberg, a top-ranking pilot in the Free Pact Alliance.

As the story progresses, Aoba finds himself caught up in a time paradox that forces him to confront the consequences of his actions in the present and the past. He also has to navigate the complex politics and alliances of the Free Pact Alliance, which is made up of several different factions with competing interests.

The show features intense mecha battles, epic space battles, and plenty of political intrigue. The relationship between Aoba, Hina, and Dio is a major focus of the series, with each of them having their own unique motivations and agendas.

The animation in Buddy Complex is top-notch, with detailed character designs and smooth action sequences. The music, composed by Yoshihisa Hirano, is also excellent, with several standout tracks that perfectly capture the epic feel of the show.
