Black Bullet is a Japanese television series based on the young adult manga of the same name. The story revolves around a horrible virus, known as the Gastrea Virus, that is decimating humanity by turning people into bloodthirsty monstrosities. Humans hide behind enormous structures called The Monolithic Walls, which stave off the virus. However, people that are born with the virus tend to develop superhuman abilities and are put to the service of stopping the plague before it takes over all of humanity. These children are dubbed, Cursed Children, they, and their handlers, whom are charged with controlling them, are the main focus of the story. The story is primarily action drive, as is the case with most popular anime series, and contains elements of drama, humor and romance. There are, often in situations of comedic proportions, a slightly disconcerting amount of subtle and sometimes not so subtle, sexual innuendos. It's disconcerting because the target, or rather perpetrator of these innuendos is often a little girl who looks about eight years old. The show is also, though sometimes slapstick, very violent and definitely not for the kids.
