Ep 3. Deep Fried Rockies

As the third episode of the first season of Carnival Cravings with Anthony Anderson, Deep Fried Rockies showcases the "black-ish" star's love for carnival food and adventurous nature as he travels across the United States discovering and devouring the most outrageous and delicious deep-fried carnival treats.

The episode begins with Anthony visiting Denver, Colorado, where he gets a chance to taste the unique culinary delights that are famous in the region. His first stop is at the famous Coors Field, where he tastes some Rocky Mountain Oysters, which is a dish made from deep-fried bull testicles. As this is one of the most daring dishes on the menu, Anthony is excited to have a taste, and the locals at the stadium share their love for the dish with him. For Anthony, the dish is a revelation, and he cannot believe how delicious it tastes.

Casa Bonita is famous for its Mexican cuisine and as a centerpiece of its entertainment, the restaurant features cliff diving shows. Anthony, being a food and entertainment enthusiast, is excited to check out the shows and try some of the food. While at Casa Bonita, Anthony tries deep-fried Mexican-style ice cream, which is a crispy, crunchy, and sweet bonanza that he declares as one of the best desserts he's ever tasted.

Later in the episode, Anthony heads to the State Fair of Texas, the biggest State Fair in the country, and boy oh boy, does he have a lot of fantastic food to choose from. Anthony focuses on the deep-fried cuisine offerings and gets introduced to one of the fair's most popular dishes: the deep-fried butter. After trying it out, Anderson declares that it's something everyone has to taste, and before leaving the fair, he tries other deep-fried treats such as deep-fried Snickers, deep-fried Oreos, and deep-fried Frito pie.

Finally, Anderson ends his adventurous journey in Denver, enjoying one of the best creations of the Colorado cuisine: Rocky Mountain high apple pie. This indulgent dessert is an enormous and delicious deep-fried apple pie that's drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauce, topped with fresh whipped cream. Anderson declares the dessert as "mind-blowing" and is surprised to learn that it's an annual competition in Denver.
