Ep 2. Pasts and Presents

Pasts and Presents is the second episode of the second season of Chesapeake Shores. The show which follows the story of the O'Brien family returns with new challenges and revelations for the family.

In this episode, the family comes together to celebrate the 70th birthday of Nell (Diane Ladd). The matriarch of the O'Brien family and the glue that holds the family together, Nell is also the keeper of the family secrets. As the family comes together in her honor, secrets from the past come to the surface and threaten to disrupt the celebrations.

Abby (Meghan Ory) struggles to find a balance between her work and personal life. With her ex-husband Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) back in town, she is torn between her feelings for him and her new relationship with Jay (Graeme McComb), the CEO of her new firm. To make matters worse, her mother has a health crisis that requires her immediate attention. Abby must juggle her responsibilities while trying to keep her personal life intact.

Mick's (Treat Williams) relationship with his son Kevin (Brendan Penny) continues to be strained. Mick is still dealing with the fallout from his past misdeeds which have affected his relationship with his children. Meanwhile, Kevin is trying to settle into his new life and adjust to being a father.

Jess (Laci J. Mailey) is still struggling to find her place in the world. She is living with her parents while trying to get her business off the ground. With her ex-boyfriend David (Carlo Marks) still in the picture, Jess is struggling to move on with her life.

Bree (Emilie Ullerup) is dealing with her own set of issues as well. As she tries to move forward with her career as a writer, she is haunted by her past mistakes. Meanwhile, her relationship with Simon (Oliver Rice) is tested when he is offered a job in New York.

The whole family is reunited once again, but with each passing day, they realize that the past is never far behind. As they come together to celebrate Nell's birthday, they are forced to confront their demons and secrets that threaten to tear them apart. Can they come together as a family and find the strength to overcome the challenges that lie ahead?
