Clean House Season 8 Episode 33 Molesky Family

  • May 12, 2010

The Molesky family has lived in their cluttered home for over a decade, and it's time for a change. The mom, dad, and two teenage daughters all contribute to the mess, with piles of clothes, boxes of old items, and even a collection of empty food containers taking up valuable space. The clutter has gotten so bad that the girls' bedrooms aren't even functional anymore, with one sister sleeping in a makeshift bed on top of piles of junk. The Moleskys are feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to begin, but luckily the team from Clean House is here to help.

Niecy Nash and her design crew visit the family, and right away they can tell that things are pretty bad. The house is cramped and disorganized, with clutter taking up almost every available surface. Niecy meets with the family to hear their concerns and establish some ground rules for the cleanup process. Mom Peggy is emotional about the situation and admits that she's been struggling with depression and anxiety, which has made it difficult for her to keep up with the housework. Dad Rob is also feeling overwhelmed and wants to create a more functional, peaceful space for his family to live in.

The team starts by separating all of the items in the house into different categories, such as clothes, toys, and sentimental items. They soon realize that the Moleskys have a lot of things that they don't need or use, from broken appliances to old t-shirts that no one wears anymore. Niecy encourages the family to let go of these items and donate them to charity, reminding them that these possessions are just things and that it's important to prioritize their health and well-being instead.

As the clutter starts to clear, the team discovers that there are some underlying issues with the house that need to be addressed. The girls' rooms have water damage and mold that could be harmful to their health, so Niecy enlists the help of a contractor to fix these issues. They also tackle the family's living room, which has become cramped and cluttered over time. Niecy and her crew work to create a new layout for the space, adding in new furniture and organizing the family's bookshelf to make the room feel more open and inviting.

Throughout the process, Niecy checks in with the family to make sure that they're feeling okay. She has individual conversations with both girls, who express their struggles with anxiety and difficulties with letting go of their possessions. Niecy offers words of encouragement and reminds them that they're not alone in their struggles.

By the end of the episode, the Molesky family has a beautiful, functional home that they can be proud of. The girls' rooms have been completely transformed, with new furniture and fresh paint. The living room now feels airy and welcoming, with plenty of space for the family to gather. Most importantly, the family has learned how to let go of their clutter and prioritize their mental health and well-being. As they say goodbye to the Clean House team, the Moleskys are ready to start a new chapter in their lives.
