Clean House season 9 episode 13, titled "Moore Family, The," follows Niecy and the Clean House team as they take on the cluttered home of the Moore family. The Moores have a particular problem with hoarding, and as a result, feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff they have accumulated over the years. In fact, the family has so much clutter that they can barely walk through certain areas of their house.
The Moores are a family of six, including parents Tommie and Tim Moore, and their four children. They live in a spacious home, but the clutter has taken over to the point where the family can no longer use many of the rooms. The Clean House team arrives on scene and immediately sets to work, starting with a walkthrough of the home to assess the level of clutter. Niecy and her team take a tour of the house and are shocked at the amount of stuff they see.
The Moores are emotionally attached to many of their possessions, and getting rid of things is particularly hard for them. They have a difficult time letting go of even the smallest and most insignificant items, making decluttering an incredibly slow and difficult process. Niecy and the team recognize the emotional toll that the clutter has taken on the family, and work to help them understand that decluttering their home will ultimately lead to a happier and more stress-free life.
As the team sorts through items, they discover that the Moores have an extensive collection of sports memorabilia that takes up a large portion of the house. They also have several hobbies and interests, such as woodworking and playing instruments, which have resulted in even more clutter. The team works with the family to sort through each item, deciding what they should keep and what should be discarded.
Niecy also brings in a professional organizer to help sort through some of the closets and storage areas of the home. The organizer, named Megan, is a pro at decluttering and comes in to help the family develop an organized and functional storage system. Together, they sort through the family's clothing, shoes, and accessories, and try to determine what should be kept and what should be donated.
Along the way, the team discovers some surprising items, such as a collection of unopened packages of socks and underwear, as well as an entire closet filled with expired canned goods. These discoveries lead to some lighthearted moments, as the team jokes around with the family while sorting through these items.
As the Clean House team progresses through the house, they begin to uncover some deeper issues behind the clutter. One of the family members struggles with a chronic illness, which has made it difficult for him to keep up with the cleaning and organization of the home. This realization leads the team to work even harder to help the family develop a system that works for everyone, and provides some much-needed relief for the family member who is struggling.
By the end of the episode, the Moores' home is transformed, and the family is left with a beautiful and clean space that they can finally enjoy. The team has managed to declutter the home, while also working through some of the emotional issues that were causing the clutter in the first place. In the end, the Moore family is left with a fresh start and a home that they can be proud of.
