In season 9, episode 6 of Clean House, the Sanders family is in desperate need of a home makeover. This family of four has accumulated so much stuff over the years that their house has become cluttered and unlivable. The mother and father both work full-time, while the two kids attend school, leaving little time and energy to clean up the messes that have accumulated.
The Clean House team is called in to help. Host Niecy Nash, designer Mark Brunetz, and yard sale guru Trish Suhr arrive on the scene, eager to transform the Sanders family home into a clean and organized space.
At first glance, the house is overwhelming. Clothes, toys, and other items are scattered throughout the rooms, making it difficult to walk or even sit down. The team quickly jumps into action, dividing up tasks and deciding what items will stay and what will go.
One of the biggest challenges for the team is dealing with the family's emotional attachment to their belongings. They have a hard time letting go of things that have sentimental value, even if they haven't used them in years. It's up to the Clean House team to gently encourage the family to part with these items, while also respecting their feelings.
Mark Brunetz takes on the task of designing new living spaces for the family. He wants to create a comfortable and functional home that still reflects their personal style. He chooses bright, bold colors and modern furnishings to update the look of the rooms. He also helps the family make better use of the space they already have, by rearranging furniture and adding storage solutions.
Meanwhile, Trish Suhr gets to work on organizing and pricing the items for a huge yard sale. She quickly realizes that the Sanders family has a lot of valuable items that could fetch a high price, but they are also willing to part with them for a good cause. They decide to donate a portion of the proceeds of the yard sale to a local charity.
As the day of the yard sale approaches, the family is nervous but excited to see the results of their hard work. They have never had so much space in their home, and they are hopeful that their newfound organization will help them keep it clean.
The yard sale is a huge success, with many community members coming out to show their support. The family is overjoyed to see so many of their belongings find new homes, and even more thrilled to be able to give back to their community.
At the end of the episode, the Sanders family is left with a beautiful, clutter-free home that reflects their style and personality. They realize that they don't need so much stuff to be happy, and they are grateful to the Clean House team for helping them get there.
