The story starts with a young boy named Agate Fluorite, who is a transfer student at the prestigious Cluster E.A. Academy.
Agate is initially seen wandering around the academy, lost and confused. He is soon approached by his roommate, who he learns is called Beryl Jasper. Beryl helps Agate get settled into his new room and gives him a brief rundown of the academy. Agate learns that Cluster E.A Academy is a military school where students are trained to fight for their country against enemies known as Filth Monsters.
However, Agate soon discovers that he has a rare and mysterious ability that is not shared by his peers. He is able to communicate with the Filth Monsters, something that both terrifies and fascinates his fellow students. Agate struggles to keep this ability hidden from his peers, knowing that they would never understand.
However, things take a turn for the worse when the school is suddenly attacked by a group of Filth Monsters. The students are thrown into chaos as they try to fight them off, but they are no match for the monsters. Just when all hope seems lost, Agate steps forward and uses his ability to communicate with the monsters to negotiate a truce. The Filth Monsters agree to leave the academy and not harm the students as long as they are not provoked.
Agate becomes a hero overnight and gains the respect and admiration of his classmates. However, not everyone is pleased with his newfound fame. One of his classmates, a boy named Chrome Dokuro, becomes jealous and resentful, seeing Agate as a threat to his own dominance and power within the academy.
As the episode comes to a close, we see Agate struggling to come to terms with his ability and the responsibilities that come with it. He also has to navigate the complex social dynamics of the academy, where power and reputation are everything.
