However, their encounter takes an unexpected turn when Fon suspects Agate of being a spy sent by the Salamander. Fuelled by her suspicions, Fon challenges Agate to a fierce duel of wits, determined to uncover his true intentions. Agate and Fon engage in a battle of words and knowledge, each trying to outwit the other.

As their verbal sparring progresses, Agate gradually discovers that Fon's skepticism and wariness stem from a deep-rooted mistrust towards the Seeds. She believes that the Seeds exploit their privileges and lack understanding of the struggles faced by the Normals. Agate, being an amnesiac Seed, struggles to navigate his identity in the face of Fon's criticisms.

Their heated debate forces Agate to reflect on his own experiences and the nature of the society he inhabits. He begins to question his role as a Seed and the responsibility he bears towards the Normals. Agate realizes that the delicate balance between the two classes is essential for the harmonious existence of Cluster.
