Ep 24. The Collapsing Stage

Lelouch has been leading the Black Knights and has successfully taken over Japan, but the battle is not over yet. In episode 24, entitled "The Collapsing Stage," Lelouch faces his biggest challenge yet as he fights against the Britannian forces led by Prince Schneizel.

The episode starts off with Lelouch and his companions planning their next move. They know that Schneizel will be attacking them soon, but they have no idea where or when. He puts on a mask to conceal his identity and leads a small squadron of Knightmares towards Lelouch's location. His mission goes awry though when he bumps into Kallen, who recognizes him and tries to stop him. They get into a heated one-on-one battle, but it's cut short when one of Schneizel's Knightmares appears. For reasons unknown, the Knightmare attacks Kallen instead of Suzaku, giving him enough time to escape.

Back at the battlefield, Lelouch realizes that they are completely outmatched and orders his soldiers to retreat. However, Schneizel isn't done yet. He orders his Knightmares to attack Lelouch's transport ship, causing it to crash land. Lelouch emerges from the wreckage unscathed, but he's surrounded by Britannian forces.

Just when all seems lost, an unexpected ally appears - the Chinese Federation, led by Empress Tianzi. They have been watching the battle from a distance and decide to intervene. The Chinese Federation sends a detachment of Knightmares to aid Lelouch, and the tide of the battle begins to turn.

With the help of the Chinese Federation, Lelouch is able to escape from the Britannian forces and regroup with the Black Knights. However, the victory is bittersweet. Lelouch realizes that he has put his sister, Nunnally, in danger by exposing his identity as Zero to Schneizel. He vows to protect Nunnally at all costs, no matter the consequences.
