In Code Geass season 2 episode 13, titled "The Assassin from the Past," the story continues to follow the actions of the terrorist group Black Knights as they try to overthrow the Holy Britannian Empire, which has taken over Japan and renamed it as Area 11. The episode starts with Suzaku, a former Japanese soldier who now serves as a knight under the Britannian Empire, reuniting with Ioryogi, his childhood friend. However, the reunion is not as joyful as Suzaku had hoped, as Ioryogi is now a member of the Black Knights and has been tasked with assassinating Suzaku.

Meanwhile, Lelouch, the leader of the Black Knights, is working on a plan to infiltrate the Britannian stronghold in Ashford Academy where a key member of the Emperor's inner circle, the High Eunuchs, is staying. Lelouch's plan involves using his Geass power, which allows him to force people to obey his commands, to control a Britannian soldier named Rolo and use him as a pawn to gain access to the stronghold. However, Lelouch's plan is complicated by the fact that Rolo is not as easy to control as he had originally thought.

As the Black Knights execute their plan, Suzaku confronts Ioryogi and tries to convince him to abandon his mission. However, Ioryogi is determined to fulfill his duty and attacks Suzaku. The fight between the two childhood friends is intense, and the outcome is uncertain. Eventually, the fight is interrupted by the arrival of a group of soldiers, and Suzaku and Ioryogi are forced to put their battle on hold and flee.

Back at the Britannian stronghold in Ashford Academy, Lelouch's plan is about to reach its climax. Rolo has obtained the High Eunuch's key card, and Lelouch is able to use it to enter the stronghold undetected. However, Lelouch's celebration is short-lived, as his cover is blown when Rolo becomes aware of his true intentions and attempts to kill him. Lelouch is saved from Rolo's attack by the timely intervention of C.C., a mysterious girl who shares a history with Lelouch.

The final moments of the episode are action-packed and full of revelations. Suzaku discovers that his actions have had unintended consequences, Ioryogi's mission is revealed to be more complex than he had originally thought, and Lelouch's encounter with C.C. leads to new insights into the nature of his own Geass power. As the episode comes to a close, the stage is set for a showdown between the Black Knights and the Britannian Empire that promises to be explosive and full of surprises.

Overall, "The Assassin from the Past" is a gripping episode that showcases the complex relationships between the various characters and sets the stage for the final confrontation between the Black Knights and the Britannian Empire. With plenty of action, suspense, and unexpected twists, this episode is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
