In the small town of Ozark, Arkansas, police are still haunted by the 2001 murder of Tracy Harris, a mother of two who was bludgeoned to death with a hatchet in her own home. With no signs of forced entry and no clear motive, the case went unsolved for over a decade.

Enter former Texas prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime scene investigator Yolanda McClary, the dynamic duo behind the true crime series Cold Justice. The pair often team up with local law enforcement to breathe new life into cold cases, and they're determined to crack the Harris case wide open.

In this episode, titled "Hatchet," Siegler and McClary arrive in Ozark to begin their investigation. They waste no time digging into the details of the case, poring over old police reports and conducting interviews with potential witnesses.

One of the first people they speak with is Tracy's ex-husband, who had an alibi at the time of the murder but is still considered a person of interest by police. Siegler and McClary hope to get a better sense of their relationship and any potential motives for murder.

As they continue their investigation, they also pay a visit to the scene of the crime. The home where Tracy was found dead has been vacant for years, but Siegler and McClary hope to find any clues or evidence that may have been missed during the initial investigation.

With the help of modern technology, including blood spatter analysis and DNA testing, the team begins to piece together what happened the night Tracy was killed. They also speak with potential witnesses who may have seen something suspicious around the time of the murder, including a neighbor who heard loud noises and a man who claims to have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area.

As the investigation unfolds, Siegler and McClary begin to suspect that the killer may have been closer to Tracy than anyone could have predicted. With this new information, they set their sights on a suspect and work tirelessly to build a case against him.

But their work isn't done yet - they still need to convince a jury that their suspect is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. With the help of the local prosecutor, they lay out their case and make a compelling argument for the killer's motives and means.

In the end, it's up to the jury to decide the fate of the accused. Will justice finally be served for Tracy Harris and her family, or will her killer walk free once again?

"Hatchet" is a gripping episode of Cold Justice that showcases the power of modern forensic techniques and dogged investigative work. Siegler and McClary bring their extensive experience and expertise to bear on a tricky case, and the result is a fascinating and suspenseful hour of television.
