Conan Season 2012 Episode 156 Conan's Got a Cold

  • December 12, 2012

Conan O'Brien has been struck with a cold, and it's affecting his demeanor and energy levels for this episode of "Conan" Season 2012. Despite his illness, however, O'Brien is determined to put on a great show and entertain his audience.

The episode opens with a monologue from O'Brien, who jokes about his cold and how it's affecting him. He coughs and sneezes throughout the monologue, but still manages to get some laughs from the audience.

After the monologue, O'Brien introduces his first guest, comedian and actor Ted Danson. Danson and O'Brien have a fun and lighthearted conversation about Danson's acting career and his new show, "Bored to Death." O'Brien's cold doesn't seem to be slowing him down too much, and he and Danson trade jokes and stories with ease.

Next up is a segment called "Coffee Table Books," where O'Brien shows off some absurd and humorous coffee table books that he's found. This segment is a regular feature on "Conan," and it's always a crowd favorite. Even with his cold, O'Brien is able to make some witty comments about the books and keep the segment entertaining.

Following "Coffee Table Books," O'Brien welcomes his musical guests, The Alabama Shakes. This up-and-coming rock band performs their hit song "Hold On," and they sound fantastic. O'Brien is clearly a fan of the band, and he makes sure to chat with them after their performance.

The next guest is actor Tim Allen, who is promoting his new film, "Last Man Standing." O'Brien and Allen have a humorous conversation about their shared experiences of working with Jay Leno, and they also discuss Allen's career in comedy and acting.

After Allen's segment, O'Brien brings out his final guest of the night, comedian Pete Holmes. Holmes and O'Brien have a great rapport, and they talk about Holmes' new show, "The Pete Holmes Show," as well as their history together in comedy. O'Brien is clearly a little more tired than he was earlier in the show, but he still manages to keep up with Holmes' energy and jokes.

Overall, despite his cold, O'Brien puts on a solid episode of "Conan" Season 2012. His guests are all engaging and entertaining, and O'Brien himself still manages to deliver plenty of laughs and keep the show running smoothly. Even when he's not feeling his best, O'Brien proves that he's still a consummate entertainer.
