Conan Season 2013 Episode 21 The Postman Always Butt-Dials Twice

  • February 11, 2013

Conan O'Brien is back with all-new episodes of his late-night talk show, and in the twenty-first episode of the 2013 season, titled "The Postman Always Butt-Dials Twice," Conan welcomes a roster of guests from the worlds of film, television, and music.

The show kicks off with Conan's usual monologue, filled with topical jokes and witty observations about the day's news. Then, Conan sits down with actor/comedian Keegan-Michael Key. Keegan-Michael Key is best known for his work on the sketch comedy series Key & Peele, and he and Conan share some laughs as they discuss his career and some of his upcoming projects.

Next up, Conan welcomes actress/comedian Whitney Cummings to the show. Whitney is known for her stand-up comedy performances, as well as her work on the sitcoms Whitney and 2 Broke Girls. She and Conan chat about her recent appearances on a number of other late-night talk shows, and they discuss some of the more absurd moments from her career.

After the commercial break, Conan is joined by English actor Dominic Monaghan. Dominic is best known for his roles in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the television series Lost. He and Conan chat about his experience working on such iconic projects and some of his other passions, including wildlife photography.

Later in the show, Conan welcomes the musical guest Yeasayer to the stage for a performance. Yeasayer is a Brooklyn-based band known for their eclectic sound that mixes indie rock, world music, and electronic dance music. They perform their hit single "Henrietta" to the delight of the studio audience.

Finally, Conan welcomes a surprise guest to the show: the Postman. The Postman is a recurring character on Conan's show, played by comedian Brian McCann. In this episode, the Postman has accidentally butt-dialed Conan while out on his delivery route, and Conan decides to play along and have a little fun at his expense. The resulting segment is a hilarious improvisation that showcases McCann's talents as a comedian and actor.

As always, the show wraps up with Conan thanking his guests and bidding the audience goodnight. With its mix of comedy, music, and celebrity interviews, "The Postman Always Butt-Dials Twice" is a great example of the kind of entertaining and unpredictable programming that Conan has become known for.
