Conan Season 2013 Episode 27 The Roomba with a View

  • February 21, 2013

Conan is a late-night talk show hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien that has been on the air since 2010. The show features interviews with celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and musical performances. Season 2013 episode 27, titled "The Roomba with a View," is a particularly funny episode that showcases some of Conan's comedic talents.

In this episode, Conan starts off by poking fun at the fact that he's been hosting the show for over 20 years (although, in reality, it's only been three). He then introduces the first guest of the night, comedian Wanda Sykes. The two of them have a hilarious conversation that has the audience roaring with laughter. They talk about Wanda's new Netflix special, her experiences working as a writer on The Chris Rock Show, and her ability to accurately mimic living creatures.

After Wanda's interview, Conan introduces a sketch about a Roomba vacuum cleaner. The sketch is a parody of those "New York through the eyes of a tourist" videos that always show the city at its most beautiful and glamorous. In this video, the Roomba is the tourist and it's taking a tour of Conan's messy studio. The Roomba is accompanied by a tour guide who narrates the tour and points out all of the hilarious and bizarre things the Roomba encounters along the way. The sketch is incredibly silly but it's also very clever and the audience loves it.

Next up is actor Will Ferrell, who is promoting his new movie Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Will and Conan have a long history of comedy together, going all the way back to their days on Saturday Night Live. They reminisce about old times and talk about what it's like working together now that they're both mega-stars. Will also shows off a fitness routine he's been working on called "The Will Ferrell Sun Salutation," which involves a lot of jumping and flailing around.

The final guest of the night is actress Ellie Kemper, who is best known for her role on The Office. Ellie is promoting her new movie, The Secret Life of Pets 2, and she and Conan discuss their mutual love of dogs. Ellie also talks about some of her earliest and most embarrassing acting experiences, which involve playing a fish in a school play and an old lady in a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party.

Throughout the episode, Conan is his usual goofy self, cracking jokes, making faces, and generally having a great time. The show is also peppered with some hilarious bits, such as a mock-commercial for "Conan's Pre-Show Warmup," which involves Conan doing some truly ridiculous exercises before the show starts.

Overall, "The Roomba with a View" is a great example of what makes Conan such a beloved late-night talk show. It's funny, irreverent, and it's clear that everyone involved is having a great time. Whether you're a fan of Conan or just a fan of good comedy, this episode is definitely worth watching.
