Crashing is a comedy-drama television series created by and starring Pete Holmes. The show premiered on HBO in February 2017 and ran for three seasons. The first episode of the show is titled "Episode 1" and sets the tone for the rest of the series.

The two of them leave the strip club, and Artie gets into a heated argument with the bouncer, which results in him getting punched in the face.

The next morning, Artie wakes up with a black eye, and Pete tries to comfort him. Artie tells him that he doesn't remember what happened after he got punched and that he might have done something that could get him into trouble with the law. Pete begins to feel guilty for his role in the events of the previous night, especially when Artie's friend Langan comes by the apartment to get Artie to do a radio interview. Langan tells Pete that Artie could be in big trouble if he did something illegal and that he should leave before the police show up.

Pete leaves Artie's apartment and goes to a comedy club for an open mic night. He meets Tess, a struggling comedian who gives him some advice on how to improve his act. He does well at the open mic and gets some positive feedback from other comedians. He talks to Jessica on the phone and apologizes to her for cheating on her. She tells him that she wants to try to work things out.

The episode ends with Pete returning to Artie's apartment, only to find out that the police are there looking for Artie. He leaves before they see him and makes a call to Langan, telling him that he feels guilty for what happened and that he wants to confess. Langan tells him to stay quiet and not to incriminate himself.

Overall, the first episode of Crashing sets up the premise of the show and introduces viewers to the characters and the world they inhabit. The episode is well-written and features some excellent performances, particularly from Pete Holmes and Artie Lange. It's an engaging and entertaining start to the series, and it leaves viewers wanting more.
