Ep 5. Oedipus Hex

A group of Wiccans gather in the woods for a ritual to celebrate the changing of the seasons. However, their ceremony is disrupted when they discover the body of a young woman nearby. When the CSIs are called to the scene, they notice strange symbols and markings on the victim's body that suggest she may have been a sacrifice in some sort of ritualistic killing.

As the investigation progresses, it becomes apparent that the victim was a college student who was studying Wicca and had recently become involved with a group of more hardcore practitioners. The CSIs interview the members of the coven and discover that one of them, a high priestess named Fiona, had a falling out with the victim and may have had a motive for murder.

Meanwhile, Danny and Lindsay are called to the scene of a bizarre car accident in which a man was killed when his car crashed into a tree. Upon further investigation, the CSIs discover that the victim was a drag queen and that her killer may have been a jealous rival in the drag performance scene.

As the episode progresses, the two investigations start to intertwine, and the CSIs begin to realize that they may be dealing with a serial killer who is targeting individuals who are perceived as outsiders by society. With time running out, the CSIs must race to catch the killer before he strikes again.

Along the way, the detectives also deal with personal struggles and relationships, including Mac's ongoing battle with cancer and Flack's growing affection for a medical examiner. The episode culminates in a tense showdown between the CSIs and the killer, leading to a surprising twist ending that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
