In season 4 episode 7 of Cutthroat Kitchen titled Two Chefs, One Toga, the culinary competition takes a historically-themed turn as four chefs are challenged to create Roman-inspired dishes while donning togas. Host Alton Brown plays the role of Caesar, and the contestants must navigate his devious sabotages while trying to stay true to the ancient cuisine.
The first round challenges the chefs to make a classic Roman dish, pasta carbonara, with one major twist – they cannot use pasta. Instead, they must make their own noodles using a cheese grater and rolling pin. To make matters worse, one chef is forced to trade their utensils for a colander, while another is given only one hand to work with.
Next up is the entree round, where the contestants must create a meat dish using a community kitchen, meaning they must share ingredients and appliances with their competitors. To make things even more challenging, one chef is forced to wear oven mitts throughout the entire cook time, while another is given a boa constrictor to keep them company.
The final challenge is a dessert round where the chefs must create a modern twist on a classic Roman dessert, tiramisu. However, there is a catch – they must use every ingredient available in a vending machine, from candy bars to energy drinks. One chef is forced to use a pogo stick instead of their feet, while another must recreate the dessert while carrying a giant Roman shield.
Throughout the episode, host Alton Brown and his "Caesar's oracle," the judge of the competition, provide comedic commentary on the chefs' struggles and triumphs. At the end, one chef is crowned Cutthroat Kitchen champion and earns the ultimate prize of $25,000.
This episode of Cutthroat Kitchen is filled with creative challenges and plenty of culinary chaos, making for an entertaining and comedic viewing experience for foodies and reality TV fans alike.
