Trevor is the fourth episode of the second season of Detroiters, a comedy series that premiered on Comedy Central on February 7, 2017. This episode was directed by Sam Richardson and written by Joe Kelly & Zach Kanin.
In Trevor, Sam and Tim, two best friends and co-owners of an advertising agency in Detroit, take on a new client, Trevor (guest star Will Sasso), who wants to promote his "totally real" motorcycle jump over a giant tank of angry sharks. Despite the obvious danger and absurdity of the stunt, Trevor insists that he is a skilled motorcyclist and that the jump will be a success. Sam and Tim are eager to prove their worth as marketers, but they soon realize that working with Trevor is not going to be easy.
As they develop the campaign, Sam and Tim struggle to navigate Trevor's eccentric personality and his unrealistic expectations. They have to figure out how to make the jump look cool and exciting without making it seem too dangerous or fake. However, things get even more complicated when they discover that Trevor's past attempts at stunts have resulted in severe injuries and public embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Sam's dad (guest star Michael Patrick McGill) shows up unexpectedly and tries to convince Sam to sell the agency and move back home to Missouri. Sam is torn between his loyalty to his father and his love for his job and his city. He confides in Tim about his dilemma, and Tim offers some sincere advice and support. Together, they try to find a way to save their agency and keep their friendship strong.
Trevor is a funny and entertaining episode that showcases the quirky and charming characters of Detroiters. The guest star Will Sasso delivers a memorable performance as the eccentric and delusional Trevor, and his interactions with Sam and Tim are hilarious and absurd. The episode also explores some deeper themes about loyalty, family, and the meaning of success.
