Dinosaur Train: Gone to Big Pond Season 1 Episode 4 Valley of the Stygimolochs / Tiny Loves Fish
- September 7, 2009
Valley of the Stygimolochs is the fourth episode of the first season of Dinosaur Train: Gone to Big Pond. In this episode, Buddy and his family take a trip to the "Valley of the Stygimolochs" where they met a new family of dinosaurs. The Stygimolochs may look tough, but they are actually very friendly and loved to play hide and seek with the Pteranodons. The Pteranodons were amazed at how unique the Stygimolochs looked, with their long sharp horns and their tough skulls.
As the episode progresses, Tiny's fascination with fish sees her venturing off on her own to find some fish to eat. She discovers a pond and quickly becomes entranced by the fish swimming around. Tiny observes the fish closely and watches as they dart back and forth. Friend of hers, Buddy, had come looking for her, worried about her safety on her own adventure. Once he finds Tiny, she shares her fascination for fish with him, and he too becomes intrigued by the underwater creatures.
In the valley, the Stygimolochs teach the Pteranodon kids how to play their own game- "horn-hockey." All the dinosaurs play until the game takes a turn when Buddy accidentally crashes into one of the Stygimoloch's strong heads when trying to catch the horn. The family quickly goes back to the Dinosaur train to check up on Buddy and make sure he's okay.
Later on, all the Pteranodon family meets up with old friends, and Tiny gets to show off her new skill- fishing! The family all observes how good Tiny is at catching fish with her beak. The episode concludes as the Pteranodon family returns to the Dinosaur Train, happy and content after their newest adventure.
The fourth episode of the first season of Dinosaur Train: Gone to Big Pond is another fun and educational installment of the beloved children's show. This episode perfectly balances adventure, friendship and learning in a way that is both entertaining and informative. With vibrant animation, engaging characters, and impressive attention to detail, Valley of the Stygimolochs and Tiny Loves Fish is an episode that kids (and perhaps adults) will enjoy and recommend to their friends.
