Ep 5. The End of Time, Pt. 1

The Doctor is back and this time he's facing his most dangerous enemy yet: The Master. In this season of Doctor Who, Monsters: The Master, we follow the evil Time Lord as he wreaks havoc across time and space. In episode 5, titled The End of Time, Pt. 1, The Master's plan to destroy the universe is finally put into motion.

The episode begins with The Master returning to Earth after his escape from prison. He is weak and in need of a new body, so he turns to a mysterious woman named Lucy Saxon for help. As The Master gains strength, he begins to put his plan into action. Meanwhile, The Doctor is visited by a mysterious Ood who warns him of an impending danger. The Ood, who are a race of telepathic aliens, have been driven mad and are now chanting a message: "The End of Time."

As The Doctor investigates, he discovers that The Master is behind the Ood's madness. The Time Lord has linked his mind with the Ood and is using their telepathic powers to spread his message across the galaxy. The Doctor realizes that The Master's plan is to use a Time Lord weapon called the Immortality Gate to turn everybody on Earth into copies of himself. This will effectively make him ruler of the universe.

The Doctor is joined by his old companion, Wilfred Mott, and together they investigate The Master's plot. They infiltrate The Master's operation and discover that the Time Lord has stolen a device called the White-Point Star from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor explains that the White-Point Star is a key component of the Time Lords' defense system and that The Master's use of it is causing ripples in time and space.

The situation becomes even more dire when The Master's new body starts to break down. He has used too much power too quickly and is unable to control his own regeneration. The Master begins to turn into a hideous creature that is barely recognisable as humanoid. The Doctor and Wilfred are able to escape, but The Master's plan is still in motion.

As the episode ends, The Doctor and Wilfred watch in horror as the people of Earth are transformed into copies of The Master. The end of the universe seems unavoidable, and The Doctor is powerless to stop it. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the viewer desperate to see what happens next.

Overall, The End of Time, Pt. 1 is a thrilling and action-packed episode that showcases the dynamic between The Doctor and The Master. The tension builds throughout the episode as The Master's plan becomes clearer and The Doctor's options become more limited. The episode also features strong performances from David Tennant as The Doctor and John Simm as The Master.
