Doctor Who (1963) Season 21 Episode 5 The Awakening (1)
- January 19, 1984
The Doctor and his companions, Tegan and Turlough, arrive in the small village of Little Hodcombe in 1984. The Doctor wants to visit Tegan's grandfather, but they soon discover that something strange is happening in the village. The local historical reenactment society is preparing for an event, but they seem to be taking it much too seriously. Meanwhile, the Doctor hears a strange voice calling to him from somewhere in the village.
As the Doctor and his companions begin to investigate the strange occurrences, they discover that an ancient evil has been awakened in Little Hodcombe. The villagers are unwittingly bringing it back to life through their reenactments, and it is up to the Doctor to stop it before it destroys the entire village.
The Doctor and his companions find themselves in the midst of a battle between two opposing forces, both vying for control of the ancient evil. The Doctor must figure out a way to stop both sides while also saving the villagers who are caught in the middle.
As the situation escalates, the Doctor begins to suspect that there may be a more sinister force at work. He uncovers a plot to use the ancient evil as a weapon, and must race against time to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
Amidst all the chaos, the Doctor also has to deal with internal conflicts between his companions. Tegan is struggling with the idea of seeing her grandfather again after so many years, while Turlough is trying to overcome his fear of the TARDIS and the Doctor's alien technology.
The group faces many challenges as they try to stop the awakened evil from destroying Little Hodcombe, but with the Doctor at their side, they stand a chance. Will they be able to save the village and stop the evil from spreading, or will they fall victim to its power?
Filled with suspense, action, and classic Doctor Who moments, "The Awakening (1)" is a must-see episode for any fan of the series.
