The Doctor and Martha find themselves in ancient Egypt. They arrive in a temple, surrounded by hieroglyphs depicting the story of a pharaoh who discovered a powerful weapon. The Doctor and Martha are greeted by the head priest, who tells them that the weapon has been lost for decades and that they must find it before it falls into the wrong hands.
As they begin their search, they encounter various obstacles, including a group of bandits who are also searching for the weapon. The Doctor and Martha eventually find a secret entrance to the temple and discover that it is guarded by a powerful creature. The creature is able to read their thoughts and attacks them when it senses that they have discovered the weapon's whereabouts.
The Doctor and Martha manage to escape and begin to search for the weapon. They uncover more hieroglyphs that reveal the weapon's true nature and the consequences that using it would bring. They also encounter a group of rebels, who are fighting against the pharaoh and his use of the weapon.
As they continue their search, the Doctor begins to suspect that there is more to the temple than meets the eye. He believes that the temple is actually a prison, designed to keep the weapon and its power contained. His suspicions are further confirmed when they learn more about the pharaoh's history and the events that led to the weapon's disappearance.
The Doctor and Martha ultimately find the weapon and face a difficult choice. They must choose between using the weapon to defeat the pharaoh and risk unleashing its untold power, or leaving it untouched and allowing the pharaoh to continue his reign of terror.
In the end, the Doctor is able to devise a plan that allows them to defeat the pharaoh without using the weapon. They escape from the temple and bid farewell to the rebels before continuing on their adventures through time and space.
