Ed Stafford: First Man Out is a survival show that follows British adventurer Ed Stafford as he battles the elements and puts his survival skills to the test against expert survivalist challengers in some of the most hostile environments on Earth. In season 1 episode 1 titled Borneo, Ed heads to the dense jungle of the Southeast Asian island of Borneo to face off against former US Navy SEAL, EJ Snyder, in a race to see who can reach a pre-determined extraction point first.

The episode opens with Ed and EJ being dropped at separate locations deep in the Borneo jungle. The challenge is simple: using only their survival skills and basic survival equipment, they must navigate their way through the dense and dangerous terrain to a designated extraction point. The first person to reach the extraction point wins the challenge.

Ed sets off first, armed with a knife, a machete, a survival kit, and a backpack containing some basic supplies. He quickly faces his first challenge - crossing a river that is swollen with water due to recent heavy rains. Ed knows the river is infested with crocodiles and decides to construct a raft using bamboo and vines to safely cross to the other side. The going is slow but steady, and Ed is starting to make progress.

Meanwhile, EJ is making his way through the jungle, armed with a backpack containing his own survival kit and a few basic supplies. He quickly faces his own first challenge - moving through thick, thorny vines that make it difficult to move quickly. But EJ is determined to keep pushing forward, and he expertly navigates his way through the underbrush.

As Ed moves deeper into the jungle, he faces a new challenge - thick, thorny brush that slows his progress to a crawl. He stops to rest and catch his breath, and soon realizes that he's lost his machete. Despite the setback, Ed remains calm and resourceful and decides to fashion a new tool from a stick and some vines he finds nearby. With his new makeshift tool in hand, Ed continues on his journey.

EJ, meanwhile, is making good progress and enjoying the challenge of the jungle. He stops to build a shelter for the night, using branches and leaves to construct a lean-to that will protect him from the rain. The shelter takes him a few hours to build, but he's pleased with the result. Soon he's asleep, resting up for the next day's challenges.

As dawn breaks in the jungle, Ed and EJ both set off on the final leg of their journey. Both men are tired and hungry, but they know that the finish line is within reach. Ed's progress is slowed by a steep hill that he must climb, using only his hands and feet. EJ, meanwhile, faces his own challenge - a thick, muddy swamp that threatens to suck him under.

Finally, after a grueling journey through the jungle, both men reach the designated extraction point at the same time. The challenge ends in a draw, with both men having demonstrated exceptional survival skills and determination. Ed and EJ collapse onto the ground, exhausted but exhilarated by the challenge they've overcome.

Overall, Ed Stafford: First Man Out season 1 episode 1 offers an exciting, action-packed adventure through one of the world's most challenging environments. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as Ed and EJ battle the jungle and each other, all while demonstrating incredible resourcefulness and resilience in the face of extreme conditions.
