In the third episode of season one of Everest Rescue titled "Flying Blind," we follow the helicopter rescue team as they face one of their toughest challenges yet. The team is tasked with rescuing a Sherpa who has become severely ill at a high altitude, but because of the high winds and low visibility, they are forced to navigate blind.

The episode begins with the team prepping for their next rescue mission. The team consists of pilot Jason, medics Ryan and Jeff, and Sherpa rescuers Jamling and Pemba. They are all experienced climbers who are used to the dangerous conditions of Everest, but even for them, this mission is going to test their limits.

As they fly to their destination, they quickly realize that the winds are stronger than they anticipated and that visibility is extremely low. Jason decides to abort the mission and head back, but as they turn around, they receive an urgent call that a Sherpa has fallen ill at Camp 2 and needs immediate medical attention.

Despite the dangerous weather conditions, Jason decides to fly back and attempt the rescue. The team's goal is to land the helicopter at Camp 2, which is situated at an elevation of over 21,000 feet. The high altitude combined with the strong winds and low visibility make this a treacherous landing.

As they approach Camp 2, the team is forced to fly blind, relying on their instruments and Jason's experience to make the landing safely. The landing is bumpy, but they manage to land safely and begin treating the sick Sherpa.

Ryan and Jeff quickly go to work, administering oxygen and other medical treatments to stabilize the Sherpa's condition. The Sherpa is suffering from severe altitude sickness, and his condition is critical.

But the rescue is not over yet. The team still has to transport the Sherpa back to base camp, which is another dangerous journey given the conditions. As they load the Sherpa onto the helicopter, they realize that the winds have picked up even more, making flying the helicopter almost impossible.

Despite the odds, Jason manages to take off and begins the journey back to base camp. The journey is bumpy and nerve-wracking, but the team remains focused and determined to get the Sherpa to safety.

As they fly, the team realizes that they have run into yet another unexpected obstacle. One of their fuel tanks is damaged, and they are quickly running out of fuel. They have to make an emergency landing to refuel, but they are running out of time.

They quickly land and refuel the helicopter, but they know that every second counts. They have already lost valuable time, so they know they need to fly as quickly as possible to get the Sherpa to safety.

Despite the terrifying conditions, Jason manages to fly the helicopter back to base camp safely, and the Sherpa is rushed to the hospital where he receives the medical attention he needs to recover.

The team is exhausted but relieved that the rescue mission was successful. They know that they were lucky to have made it out alive in such dangerous conditions, but they are proud of their ability to work together and overcome the challenges they faced.

In the end, the team reflects on the mission and realizes the importance of being prepared for the unexpected when working in such treacherous conditions. They know that every mission they undertake has the potential to be their last, but they are determined to keep working to save the lives of those who need their help the most.
