Ep 22. Why Are We Here?

Ray and Debra are in bed having a conversation about the reasons for their existence. Ray seems content with just living in the moment and enjoying life, while Debra is worried that they are not living up to their potential. She wonders if they were put on earth for a greater purpose and if they are missing out on something important.

Meanwhile, Robert is going through a mid-life crisis and quits his job as a police officer. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life and feels like he's wasted his career. Frank offers him a job at his factory, but Robert is hesitant to accept it.

Ray and Debra invite over their friends, the Finleys, for a dinner party. The Finleys seem to have it all together with their successful careers and happy marriage, and Debra becomes even more anxious about her own life. She begins to question everything, including her decision to marry Ray.

During the dinner party, the conversation turns to the topic of why we are here. The Finleys believe that everyone has a purpose and that they are fulfilling theirs by being successful lawyers. Ray and Debra feel inadequate in comparison and are unsure of their own purpose.

After the party, Ray and Debra continue the conversation at home. They both express their fears and insecurities, but ultimately come to the realization that they don't need to have a specific purpose in order to enjoy their lives. They decide to focus on what makes them happy and not worry about living up to anyone else's expectations.

Meanwhile, Robert decides to take Frank up on his job offer and starts working at the factory. Although it's not his dream job, he is content with his decision and feels like he is taking control of his life again.

The episode ends with Ray and Debra cuddling in bed, happy and content with their lives. They may not have a greater purpose, but they have each other and their family, and that's enough.
