Ep 18. Ray Home Alone

When Debra takes the kids to her parents' house for a weekend away with her and Ray, Ray looks forward to a fun weekend all to himself. He has the whole house to himself and plans to stock up on some junk food, watch sports non-stop, and generally decompress without the usual responsibilities of being a husband and father.

He starts off his weekend doing exactly that, and he's happy as a clam. However, things start to go awry when he realizes that he's not as self-sufficient as he thought he was. He struggles to fill up Debra's car with gas, which is something Debra usually takes care of. He also realizes that he has no idea how to work the washing machine and ends up having to go to his parents' house to get some clean clothes.

Throughout the day, Ray starts to get more and more frazzled and overwhelmed. He can't seem to relax and enjoy his alone time without feeling guilty about neglecting his responsibilities at home. His friend, Andy, drops by and they decide to go out for some drinks. While at the bar, Ray spills his guts about feeling like he's not as capable of being on his own as he thought he was.

Meanwhile, back at Debra's parents' house, Debra is dealing with some issues of her own. Her parents are driving her crazy with their constant bickering and meddling, and she can't help but feel like she's stuck in a time warp being back in her childhood home.

When Debra and the kids come back home, they find Ray passed out on the couch with junk food scattered all around him. Despite feeling frustrated with him for not being productive while they were away, Debra can't help but feel sympathetic towards Ray and his struggles with being home alone.

In the end, Ray realizes that he may not be the most self-sufficient person when it comes to running a household, but he values his family more than anything and will do whatever it takes to be a good husband and father. It's a heartwarming episode that reminds us all that sometimes, we need a little help from the people we love the most.
