Ep 3. Terrence/Greg

Terrence is a father who will go to any lengths to save money. Despite having a successful career in real estate, Terrence has chosen to live with his family in a tiny apartment and to cut back on expenses wherever he can. He has a number of unique ways of saving money, including stealing condiments from fast food restaurants and reusing dental floss.

Meanwhile, we meet Greg, a man who has taken frugality to a whole new level. Greg claims to have only spent $1,500 over the course of an entire year. He eats out of dumpsters and refuses to buy toilet paper, instead using reusable cloths. He even shares bathwater with his girlfriend in order to save on water bills.

Throughout the episode, we see both Terrence and Greg struggle with their extreme lifestyles. Terrence's wife and children are tired of living in such a small space and are frustrated by their inability to spend money on anything beyond basic necessities. Greg's girlfriend, who is not as committed to living an extreme lifestyle, is growing tired and worried about their squalid living conditions.

Despite their challenges, both men are determined to stick to their penny-pinching ways. Terrence continues to find new and creative ways to save money, including haggling over prices at the grocery store and reusing paper towels. Greg, meanwhile, goes even further in his quest to save money, giving up his own bed in order to rent it out on Airbnb and sleeping on a mattress on the floor instead.

As the episode progresses, we see the toll that their extreme frugality is taking on both Terrence and Greg. Terrence's relationships with his family members are strained, and he reflects on whether his obsession with saving money is worth the cost of his loved ones' happiness. Greg, too, begins to question whether his dedication to frugality is worth the sacrifices he is making.

In the end, both men make changes to their lifestyles. Terrence decides to move his family to a larger apartment and to allow himself and his loved ones to enjoy some of the fruits of his labor. Greg, meanwhile, realizes that his frugality has become an addiction and seeks help for his compulsive behavior.

Throughout the episode, we see the extremes to which people will go to save money, and the challenges and difficulties that come with such a lifestyle. While some of the tactics used by Terrence and Greg are extreme and even dangerous, the show provides an interesting exploration of the psychology of frugality and the very real impacts that it can have on people's lives.
