In Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files season 1 episode 11, titled "Lunar Landing Hoax / Tropical Intruder," the team is faced with two very different investigations.
First, they look into the conspiracy theory that the 1969 moon landing was actually faked by the US government. The team travels to an abandoned gold mine in California where they attempt to recreate some of the footage and images from the moon landing using props and costumes. They also speak with experts in photography and special effects to determine if the footage could have been faked. The team must figure out if there is any evidence to support the conspiracy or if the moon landing was, in fact, a real event.
In the second investigation, the team is tasked with investigating footage from a security camera at a resort in Mexico that appears to show a strange creature walking through the hotel lobby. The creature is described as being approximately 8 feet tall, with long arms and legs, and covered in long, shaggy hair. The team travels to the resort to speak with witnesses and gather more evidence. They also attempt to recreate the creature using a special effects artist and CGI technology to determine if the footage could have been faked or if there is a real, unknown creature lurking in the resort.
As always, the team uses their expertise in photography, special effects, and investigation techniques to determine if these incidents are fact or faked.
