Ep 2. Wranglin World Records

In this episode of Fast N' Loud season 16, titled "Wranglin World Records," Richard and the Gas Monkey crew set out to break some world records. They start by taking on a challenge to build the world's fastest amphibious car, which can go from land to water and back again without skipping a beat.

Richard and the team are no strangers to building high-performance vehicles, but creating an amphibious car is a whole new challenge. They start by finding a suitable car to modify, settling on a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD wagon. They strip it down and install a new engine and transmission, as well as a custom water propulsion system.

Once the car is complete, Richard and the crew head to a nearby lake to put their creation to the test. They face a number of challenges, from dealing with the car's buoyancy in the water to navigating the choppy waves. But with some skillful driving and a little bit of luck, they manage to set a new world record for the fastest amphibious car.

Next up, Richard and the team take on another world record, this time to build the world's biggest soapbox racer. They team up with a local school's physics class to help design and build the massive soapbox, which measures nearly 20 feet long and features an impressive array of custom features.

Building the soapbox proves to be quite a challenge, with plenty of setbacks and obstacles along the way. But the Gas Monkey crew perseveres, putting in long hours and late nights to get the job done. They finally manage to finish the soapbox just in time for the big race, where they face off against other teams from around the world.

The race itself is a wild and chaotic affair, with soapbox racers careening down a steep hill at breakneck speeds. Despite the massive size of their racer, the Gas Monkey team manages to hold their own, thanks in part to some clever engineering and a well-tuned suspension system. In the end, they narrowly miss out on breaking the world record, but still manage to come away with a respectable finish.

Throughout the episode, Richard and the crew demonstrate their trademark blend of expertise, creativity, and resourcefulness. They take on some truly ambitious projects, pushing the limits of what's possible and leaving their mark on the world of high-performance vehicles.
