Frankenfood Season 1 Episode 5 A Sampling of the Second City

In episode 5 of season 1 of Frankenfood, entitled "A Sampling of the Second City," the judges head to Chicago in search of the most unique and innovative food creations in the Windy City. Host Josh Capon and food scientist Tony Luke Jr. are joined by guest judge and comedian Godfrey, who provides plenty of laughs throughout the episode.

The first dish they encounter is a deep-dish pizza with a twist. Instead of the traditional tomato sauce, it's made with a spicy chili concoction that really brings the heat. Finally, the judges are tasked with taste-testing various Chicago-style hot dogs from local vendors. They evaluate each hot dog based on the quality of the bun, the texture and flavor of the hot dog itself, and the toppings. While they all enjoy the classic combination of mustard, relish, and onions, they're blown away by a spicy hot dog topped with giardiniera, a pickled vegetable mix.
