Haruka and Makoto prepare to leave for Tokyo to cheer on their friend Rin at the national swimming competition. Meanwhile, the rest of the Iwatobi swim club works hard to prepare for their upcoming tournament. As the boys train and bond over their shared love of swimming, they begin to discuss their future goals and aspirations. Nagisa admits that he has always dreamed of swimming with the same level of talent as Rin, while Rei struggles with figuring out his own passion for the sport.

As Haruka and Makoto arrive in Tokyo, they are amazed by the sheer scale and intensity of the national competition.
