Ep 14. Destruction's Right Hand

Edward and Alphonse are still recovering from their injuries, and they are visited by Lieutenant Colonel Maes Hughes. Hughes brings Edward a letter from Sheska, a former employee of the State Library who has been dismissed from her job due to her role in helping Edward research the Philosopher's Stone. In the letter, Sheska reports that she has found a reference to a book on the Philosopher's Stone in the library's restricted section and has managed to copy the contents of a page from it.

Meanwhile, the Homunculus Sloth has been tasked with excavating a tunnel beneath Central City that will enable the rest of the Homunculi to carry out their plans. Sloth is assisted by a group of prisoners who have been promised their freedom if they help with the excavation.

Havoc and Falman are still keeping a close eye on Barry the Chopper, who has been released from prison under the condition that he assist with the investigation into Laboratory 5. When Havoc is called away to investigate a disturbance at the excavation site, Falman is left alone with Barry, who manages to escape.

At the excavation site, Edward and Alphonse investigate the strange phenomenon that has led to the destruction of an entire district. They find that the tunnel being excavated by Sloth is causing massive earthquakes, and they use their alchemical abilities to seal the tunnel and prevent further damage.

Back at Central Command, Mustang receives a visit from Madame Christmas, who brings him a file containing information on the Homunculi. Mustang learns that they are the result of a failed attempt to create a Philosopher's Stone, and that they each embody one of the deadly sins.

As the episode comes to a close, Barry reveals to Falman that he has been working for the Homunculi all along. Alphonse has a premonition of something terrible happening, and an unseen figure is shown observing the Elrics from a distance.
