Garfunkel & Oates is a comedy television series that follows the lives of two struggling female musicians in Los Angeles, named Riki and Kate. Each episode features their quirky adventures in the entertainment industry and personal lives.
Season 1 Episode 4 of Garfunkel & Oates is titled "Road Warriors" and follows Riki and Kate as they embark on a road trip for a gig. The episode starts with Riki and Kate in their apartment, trying to figure out a way to make some quick cash. They decide to book a gig in San Diego and take a road trip to get there. Along the way, they encounter several obstacles that threaten to derail their trip.
The first obstacle they encounter is a flat tire. They pull over to the side of the road and start arguing about who's going to change the tire. Riki insists that Kate should do it because she's stronger, while Kate argues that Riki should do it because she has more experience changing tires. They both ultimately fail at changing the tire and end up calling a tow truck.
Once they arrive in San Diego, they realize that the gig they booked is at a biker bar. At first, they're hesitant to perform because they don't think their music will be well-received by the tough-looking crowd. However, they decide to give it a shot and end up surprising the audience with their clever and humorous songs. The biggest hit of the night is a song called "Weed Card" that they wrote specifically for the occasion.
After the gig, Riki and Kate hit the road again and start heading back to LA. They're exhausted and decide to pull over at a motel for the night. However, they quickly realize that the motel is infested with bedbugs and spend the night trying to avoid getting bitten.
When they finally make it back to LA, they're relieved to be home but also feel a sense of accomplishment for successfully completing their road trip. They end the episode by performing a new song they wrote about their adventure called "Road Warriors."
Overall, "Road Warriors" is a hilarious and entertaining episode that showcases Riki and Kate's chemistry as friends and musical partners. Throughout the episode, they face several challenges but always manage to find a way to make the best of the situation. The humor in the episode is often crass and irreverent, but it never feels mean-spirited or over-the-top. Fans of Garfunkel & Oates will love this episode for its witty banter and catchy music.
