Ep 7. Special Sauce

In the seventh episode of Good Girls season one, titled "Special Sauce," the ladies' plan to acquire Boomer's vehicle might come to a screeching halt when Boomer attempts to face his embezzler.

Annie, Ruby, and Beth rebound from Rio's death in the previous episode, but they still need money. With the counterfeit money mishap, the ladies will face losing even more cash this week.

All three girls show up and act natural just as Boomer's dream finally comes true, promoting from his job at the grocery store to Assistant Manager. Using their feminine charm, they persuade him to take them to his victim's home; however, their strategy takes a wrong turn when Boomer admits to inviting the women separately so that he could have sex with them.

When the women finally meet with Boomer's blackmail victim to pay the $20,000 to avoid being discovered, the tables turn, and Boomer gets coerced into revealing all the information they need to get Rio in jail.

Meanwhile, Beth opens up a new checking account in the counterfeit name of Leslie Peters and tries to cash out the life insurance policy, but things go awry when she learns the true cost of committing fraud.

Annie, on the other hand, struggles throughout the episode to find a way to avoid her son's upcoming birthday party until finally, her ex-husband reluctantly agrees to have a joint party.

Ruby, who has been grappling with her daughter's kidney issues and her unemployment, seeks out a job to support her family. The unexpected decision to help her daughter ends up trapping Ruby in an awful situation where she has to rely on Stan for help to protect both her family's and her daughter's secrets when her boss deducts money from her pay.

Throughout all of this, the ladies continue to devise a plan to take down Rio before things get even more out of hand.

Overall, "Special Sauce" delivers plenty of excitement, suspense, and a few humorous moments. The episode continues to show the women's ever-increasing recognition of their power and the risks they're forced to take as they pursue their goals. As they continue to plot and scheme, the tension remains high, as viewers continue to root for them, even as they're pushed farther down the rabbit hole of criminality.
