In Hardcore Pawn season 7 episode 7, entitled Watch Your Back, we see the staff of American Jewelry and Loan dealing with a variety of challenging situations. As usual, tensions are high and business is booming at the pawn shop, but this episode sees the drama kicked up a notch.
One of the major storylines in this episode involves an irate customer who believes she was the victim of a bait-and-switch scam. She claims that she was sold a piece of jewelry that was not as described, and demands a refund. However, the store's staff dispute her account of events and refuse to comply with her demands. This sets off a heated argument between the customer and the employees, which quickly escalates into a shouting match.
Meanwhile, another customer brings in a collection of antique guns that he hopes to sell. However, Les, the owner of American Jewelry and Loan, is suspicious of the authenticity of the firearms and calls in an expert to verify their value. As the expert examines the collection, tensions rise between him and the gun owner, who becomes increasingly defensive about his merchandise. Eventually, the expert confirms that the collection is genuine, but not before things get extremely tense.
Elsewhere in the shop, the employees are dealing with a slew of bizarre customers and unexpected incidents. One customer brings in a bag of used dentures, hoping to pawn them for some quick cash. Another man tries to sell a bizarre "fertility totem" that he claims will help couples conceive. And in a particularly tense moment, Seth, one of the store's managers, realizes that he's being followed by a group of suspicious-looking men. As he tries to shake them off, he realizes that he may be in serious danger.
Throughout the episode, we see the employees of American Jewelry and Loan struggling to maintain their cool in the face of some extremely difficult customers. From angry customers demanding refunds to armed collectors trying to sell questionable merchandise, everyone must stay on their toes in order to keep the business running smoothly. The tension is palpable, and it's clear that anything could happen at any moment.
Despite the challenges they face, however, the staff of American Jewelry and Loan prove once again that they are up to the task. Les remains firm but fair with his customers, while Seth and the other managers deal with difficult situations with a cool head. And as the episode comes to a close, the shop's employees are left once again to reflect on the intense and unpredictable world of the pawn business.
